The ultimate in single ended directly heated triode sound? Let you ears be the judge. The 2A3 tube was patented in the 1930’s and has become one of the most popular audiophile output tubes. New versions of the original design are constantly appearing on the market.

Our 2A3 was developed with aim of giving you the best sound possible within the limits of the 2A3 tube. With three watts per channel available, every component counts. 

The linearity of the 2A3 means that negative feedback is not needed to flatten the frequency response. The low plate resistance of the triode helps to bring out the best in the output transformer. 

The output transformer was developed specially for the 2A3. The excellent characteristics of the c-cores was chosen to compliment the low loss interleaved winding arrangement. The result is a very big sounding three watt amplifier that is probably loud enough for most music, except heavy rock bands and big orchestral arrangements. It all depends on the speakers.

A straight forward power supply is used. tube rectified PI filter using low DSR chokes and polypropelene capacitors is used. The 2A3 is then
