NOTE: Order your kit at least a month before the actual event, so we can manufacture the parts in time.
Build your own Tube Amplifier!
The most economical way to get a top notch audio system is to build one yourself. We will help you to manifest a wonderful sounding tube amplifier that you can service and modify yourself.
We have been offering DIY workshops in Paarl and Gauteng over the past ten years, and we have all the experience to guide you through a successful build of your chosen kit.
Our kits are developed with ease of construction and superior sonics as the goal, showcasing our OEM enclosures, transformers and layouts.
No prior experience is necessary. That said, any experience in soldering will be an advantage. If you want to pursue DIY tube amplifiers as a hobby, then you will need to acquire your own soldering station, solder lead and basic tools. (We have one set of tools at our workshop available for attendees with no tools.)
Latest DIY Workshops
Date: 29 April 2017
Venue: Paarl Workshop
The workshop costs R2,000 for the typical two days needed to complete your build. If you prefer to work at a slower pace, you can do the workshop over as many days as you like. The cost for each additional day is R1,000. You can choose a guitar amplifier kit [here][link to guitar amp kits] or a stereo hifi kit [here][link to stereo amp kits].
We are based in Paarl, and present local DIY workshops on request. Typically they are done on Saturdays. Usually projects take two to three Saturdays to complete, depending on your level of experience. You go home with a playing amplifier.
Paarl has wonderful bed and breakfasts and breathtaking farm estate accommodation. Why not plan a visit to the Winelands and build an amplifier too?
We also present two day workshops nationwide, especially in the main centres. If we have four or more committed participants, we are likely to organise an event. Contact us and we will liaise with all participants, organise the event and fix the dates.
